This photograph would have been taken from the slope south of the Hillcrest Inn looking up at the inn which was on the bluff east of the harbour. The postcard bears a stamp of King George VI which was in use from 1937 to 1942. The slope down towards the lake appears to be gentler than it is today showing that erosion has changed the landscape in this area.
