Bessie Street, Willow Beach

This postcard bears a postmark of 1912. None of the buildings can be recognized today, and we cannot be sure if they would have been summer cottages or year-round residences. The same could be said of many of the buildings in Port Stanley today. Bessie Street was named after the daughter of Manuel Payne, who was Port Stanley’s telegraph and telephone operator. His home was on Main Street.
