Port Stanley Looking South

Hill Crest Inn

This postcard is dated July 4,1939. It shows the garden of the Hillcrest Inn, a very popular hotel and restaurant in Port Stanley in the 1940s.  The Shipps, who owned the hotel, had several very friendly Dalmatian dogs who are featured on more than one postcard.   The dogs seem to have been very fond of carrying balloons in their mouths.
