The London & Port Stanley Railroad (L&PS) Bathhouse

This postcard was mailed on July 27, 1929. It shows the L&PS Bath House and Cafeteria which had been built twelve years before in 1912. It boasted 50 private dressing rooms, each measuring 3.5 feet by 4 feet. In the summer the London and Port Stanley Railway carried tens of thousands of passengers from London to Port Stanley. Port Stanley’s famed board walk, lined with amusement stalls, refreshments stands and games of chance extended east from the bath house, leading to the main pier and harbour.
