Main Beach Aerial View (1)

Aerial views of Port Stanley are of great interest, especially when they bear a date. This view was taken in 1920.The coastline and entrance to the harbour have changed considerably since this photo was taken. We can see what appears to be a wooden grain elevator on the west side of the harbour. The large Stanley Beach Casino is evident on the water front and we can see early evidence of the refreshment stands
and amusement booths which extended west from it along what became known
as the boardwalk.
