Roller Coaster (1)

This postcard shows a view of the Port Stanley amusement beach roller
coaster, taken from the bluff above the beach. The roller coaster
apparently had what we might call a figure 8 layout. We do not know the
exact date when the roller coaster was built, but was shown on a 1909
harbour chart, apparently being enough of a landmark on the Port Stanley
shoreline to be useful for navigation. It was destroyed by fire in 1935.
