Port Stanley Looking East

This postcard bears a 1913 postmark. It is interesting to note, as we can in so many postcards from this era, the lack of vegetation on the hills surrounding the village. Also of note is the deep cleft in the hill to the east of the village. Note the Ice Cream Parlour at the west end of the bridge where the Port Stanley tourist office stands today. By 1913, Port Stanley had become an important summer destination for cottagers and visitors.
