The Boardwalk (1)

While many of the postcards on this website date from an earlier era,
this one is postmarked 1937. The view looks east along what
was called for many years, the “Boardwalk” which extended along a
lengthy stretch of Port Stanley’s Amusement Beach. It was lined
with snack shops selling refreshments, amusement stands offering a variety of games of
chance, and shops full of souvenirs. The building on the left
of this photograph was Mackie’s, where they sold orangeade, “The drink
that made Port Stanley famous”.
