Incline Railway

The Incline Railway was originally built to transport vacationers from the elegant Fraser House hotel on the top of the bluff west of the village to the beach below.

Later it carried people to and from the picnic grounds on the top of the bluff.

Throughout most of the first half of the last century tickets were 10 for 25 cents, and it was a rare summer cottage which did not have a few unused tickets tucked away in a sideboard drawer.
