Kettle Creek Bridge

Kettle Creek Bridge

There is no date or postmark on this card, but judging by the long dresses on the ladies a pre World War One era could be assumed.   The building in the centre of the photograph, located on the northeast corner of Bridge and Bostwick streets is still there today, as is the building beyond it which housed St. Mark’s Masonic lodge.

The building in the centre of the photograph is on the Northeast corner of Bridge and Bostwick streets.   Bostwick Street was named after John Bostwick who is often referred to as Port Stanley’s founding father.  He received his large land grant at the mouth of Kettle Creek in 1804, but we are not sure when he took up residence here.
