February 26 HPS Meeting

February 26 @ 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for an engaging afternoon at the Port Stanley Festival Theatre on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at 1:30 PM, as we gather for our Heritage Port Stanley Meeting. The agenda will feature a warm welcome from Dave Russell, followed by a land acknowledgment by Nora Sanders. We’ll review the minutes from our January 27th meeting, presented by Sally Martyn, and hear the Treasurer’s Report from Anne Kent. Nora and Dave will also provide an important executive update.

Please note that the annual membership fee of $20 is due by the end of February, with membership cards being distributed in March. So far, 35 members have already paid.

We will also be discussing the Heritage Question of the Month: What fish could only be caught in March or April at night in Lake Erie?

The meeting will include updates on future events:

  • March 26, 2026: Agnes Hepburn’s Papers – Speaker: Sally Martyn
  • April 23, 2026: McKee Treaty and Native Heritage – Speaker: Nora Sanders
  • May 28, 2026: History of the Mill – Speaker: John Smith

Additionally, we’ll highlight important heritage-related business and announcements before transitioning into a special feature presentation: Netting the Waters—a movie showcasing the history of local fisheries.

We look forward to seeing you there and continuing our work to preserve and celebrate the rich history of Port Stanley!
