Steamer Vigilant at Port Stanley

The Vigilant was a Canadian government patrol boat.  She was 145 feet long, and had a top speed of 21 knots.  It is said she carried four guns which ”Struck fear into the south-shore fisherment“  Presumably she was enforcing fishing regulations which prevented American boats from poaching in Canadian waters.
