Hill Crest in 1909
This postcard shows a view of the bluff east of the business section of the village, an area which is known as Hill Crest. The building on the right in this photograph is thought to be the Liberty Hill Club clubhouse. According to an 1897 issue of the London News, the Liberty Hill Club consisted of several summer cottages, and lots situated on the bluff. The club house contained a large dining hall and two small dining rooms for family parties, “managed by a first-class steward”.
